Whether you’re trying something totally new or just craving a creative escape, this beginner‑friendly wheel class gives you the thrill of throwing clay, the magic of shaping something from nothing, and the joy of leaving with a piece you made with your own two hands.

Recommended for individuals of any skillsets, but tailored to complete beginners. This class is recommended for ages 18+.

Deposit:
Secure your group’s instructor with a $55 (nonrefundable) deposit that will be used towards the total sum of the class. Deposit can be transferable if original class date is canceled. Total owed sum will be due by the class completion. We accept cash, card, or venmo.

Class Minimum:
We love hosting private groups, and we do require at least five participants. If your group is smaller, you’re still welcome—you can reserve the class at the minimum rate. We’re not able to offer reduced pricing for smaller groups at this time.

Class Scheduling:
Once your deposit is received, your instructor will reach out to coordinate scheduling for your group. If you have a specific date in mind or any questions, please email arttaysiallc@gmail.com to check availability.

The Space:

This class is hosted at Formed by Fire, LLC in Okauchee, WI. Address will be e-mailed to participants upon confirmation of payment/participation.

Cost is $55 including all materials. 

Learning Objectives: 

  • Cups/Cylinders

  • Bowls

  • General understanding of ceramic stages of craft after throwing is completed. (I.e. explanation of bisquing, glazing, and firing)

Class Make Ups and Cancellations:

We understand that life happens and sometimes plans change. If you ever need a make‑up class, we’re happy to talk through options with you—these are offered on a case‑by‑case basis after a conversation with the instructor.

Full refunds (minus the $55 non‑refundable deposit) are available up to two weeks before the class begins. After that, we can refund 50% of the class fee up until five business days before class. Unfortunately, we’re not able to offer refunds for no‑shows or cancellations made within those final five business days.

Classes require a minimum of 5 students to run and can accommodate up to 8 students in the space.

Class Itinerary:
- First 30 Minutes: Live demonstration and explanation of wheel throwing fundamentals
- Remaining Class Time: Open wheel throwing with guided practice. Students will create at least one piece.

Additional Details
• Your class fee includes clay to practice and throw multiple pieces during class, with finishing (bisque + glaze firing) included for one piece.
• Additional pieces you’d like to keep may be finished for $10 per piece.
• Finished pieces will be ready for pickup within approximately one month of the class date.
• All finished pieces are microwave, dishwasher, and food safe.

Class Fee Covers:

  • Bisque and Glaze Kiln Firings of 1 class creation (additional pieces will be finished at an extra cost)

  • Class Clay, Cone 5 Clay, Speckled Brownstone #112 by Standard Clay Company.
